A year since it was published, the NGOwithquality Standard is being
implemented in over 15 services and activities of at least
seven NGOs in Spain. Dissemination of and interest in this
initiative
is growing, as shown by the over three thousand
hits received each month by the website
"www.ongconcalidad.org”
and the numerous writings, lectures and other contacts
which we have had since then with people from the world of
NGOs involved in social action.
The revised version which we are now presenting forms
part of the improvement and adaptation process already
envisaged in the first edition. To do this, we have
started from the contributions made by the NGOs that are
implementing it. We have also been able to include the
opinions of experts on quality management and NGO
management, as we also did in the first edition.
The fruits of all this may be seen in the text we
present here. A better-edited text, more accurate in terms
of some of the requirements of the standard
and better adapted to the needs of NGOs.
As a result of all this, we believe that the
experience which started to be gained three years ago is
beginning to come to fruition. At that time, we wanted to
create a standard that would be useful for NGOs, with its
own language and valid for ensuring continuous improvement
in NGO management in society.
That is why we hope that the NGOwithquality Standard
will become a widely-used instrument in the near future,
recognised by public administrators and also appreciated
by the world of quality assurance culture.
